Controls That Put You in Charge

Every tool listed here is built into the jiwn platform and available to all registered users. You do not need a reason to use them — they exist because gambling should always stay within boundaries you choose.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum daily, weekly or monthly deposit cap in PKR. Once your limit is reached, the platform will not accept further deposits until the period resets. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately; raising it involves a cooling-off period to protect against impulsive decisions.

Loss Limits

Define the maximum amount you are willing to lose across a set period — daily, weekly or monthly. When your net loss reaches this threshold, your ability to place further bets is paused until the period ends. This tool is particularly useful during high-intensity cricket or PSL match days.

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration. When your time is up, jiwn will notify you and, depending on your settings, log you out automatically. Knowing how long you have been playing is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stay in control of your gambling behaviour.

Cooling-Off Period

Take a temporary break of 24 hours, 48 hours, one week or one month. During a cooling-off period your account is accessible for review but wagering and deposits are disabled. This is a lighter-touch alternative to full self-exclusion if you feel you need a short pause rather than an extended break.

Self-Exclusion

Request a formal self-exclusion to block your access to jiwn for a defined minimum period or indefinitely. Self-exclusion is taken seriously — it cannot be reversed during the exclusion period regardless of subsequent requests. Contact [email protected] immediately if you wish to activate this option.

Reality Checks

Enable periodic on-screen reminders that display how long your current session has lasted and your net win/loss position. These prompts appear at intervals you choose — every 15, 30 or 60 minutes — and give you an honest snapshot of your activity so you can make an informed decision about whether to continue.

Understanding Responsible Play

What Responsible Gambling Actually Means

Responsible gambling is not about abstaining from betting — it is about betting within personal boundaries that do not negatively impact your financial position, relationships, work or mental health. At jiwn, we define responsible play as gambling that remains voluntary, affordable and enjoyable at all times.

Pakistan has a vibrant sports culture. Cricket season — especially PSL, ICC tournaments and bilateral series — brings enormous energy to cities like Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. That excitement is real, and jiwn is designed to be part of it. But excitement can blur judgment. A match that your team is losing is not a reason to increase stakes to recover losses. No bet can change the outcome of an event that has already occurred.

Gambling cannot be a reliable income source. Outcomes are determined by probability, not skill alone, and the mathematical edge in any casino game or bookmaker's margin on sports markets means that, over time, the house has an advantage. Play with money you are comfortable losing entirely — never with rent, groceries, utilities or funds earmarked for family needs.

Responsible gambling also means being honest with yourself about your motivations. Playing for entertainment is healthy. Playing to escape stress, to solve financial problems, or because you feel compelled even when you do not want to — these are warning signs that deserve attention.

Warning Signs

Signs That Gambling May Be Becoming a Problem

Spending more than you planned to on a regular basis, even when you told yourself you would stop at a set amount.

Chasing losses — increasing your stakes or depositing more in an attempt to win back money you have already lost.

Gambling with money that should be used for essential expenses — household bills, school fees, groceries or transport costs.

Feeling anxious, irritable or restless when you are not gambling, or when you try to cut down and cannot.

Lying to family members — including those in Lahore, Karachi or elsewhere — about how much time or money you spend on gambling.

Neglecting work, studies, relationships or health in favour of gambling sessions.

Ask Yourself Honestly
Do I think about gambling even when I am doing other things?
Have I ever borrowed money — from family, friends or a fintech app — to fund gambling?
Do I feel the need to gamble with larger amounts over time to get the same feeling of excitement?
Have I tried to stop gambling and found that I could not?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, please contact jiwn support immediately to discuss self-exclusion or limit options.

Setting Your Limits

How Limits Work on jiwn

Limits on jiwn are designed with one principle in mind: they should be easy to tighten and deliberate to loosen. This asymmetry is intentional and is there to protect you, not to restrict your freedom.

You can set, lower or remove limits by navigating to your Account Settings once logged in, or by contacting jiwn's 24/7 support team. All limit requests are processed promptly. Requests to increase an existing limit are subject to a mandatory reflection period before they take effect — you will be notified of the exact cooling-off duration when you submit the request.

01
Daily Deposit Limit (PKR)

Cap the total amount you can deposit in any 24-hour rolling period. Effective immediately when set or lowered. Any attempt to deposit beyond the cap is declined automatically with a notification explaining why.

02
Weekly & Monthly Deposit Limits (PKR)

A longer-horizon version of the daily cap. Useful if your spending tends to spike over weekends or during major sporting events like ICC World Cups, PSL finals or international Test series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

03
Loss Limit (Daily / Weekly / Monthly)

Once your net loss across the specified period reaches the amount you set, further wagering is paused until the period resets. This is the single most effective tool for protecting your budget during a losing run.

04
Single-Session Time Limit

Choose a maximum duration for a single logged-in session — 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or a custom period. When the timer expires you receive a warning. If you have chosen auto-logout, you are signed out automatically.

05
Reality Check Frequency

Set how often you receive on-screen pop-ups showing your session duration and net position. These are not interruptions — they are honest checkpoints that give you context to make a clear-headed decision about continuing.

Self-Exclusion

Choosing to Step Away — How It Works

Self-exclusion is the most serious responsible gambling tool available. It is not a penalty — it is a decision you can make at any time to protect yourself. jiwn treats every self-exclusion request with urgency and confidentiality.

When you request self-exclusion, your jiwn account is locked and no further deposits, bets or withdrawals (beyond any pending balance return) can be made for the duration you choose. The minimum self-exclusion period is six months. Indefinite exclusion is also available. Once an exclusion is in place, it cannot be reversed — not even if you contact support and ask — until the full exclusion period has elapsed.

After the exclusion period ends, re-activating your account requires a formal review process and a mandatory reflection period. jiwn will not pressure you to return. Your mental health and financial wellbeing are more important than your account status.

How to Request Self-Exclusion
1
Contact jiwn Support

Email [email protected] with the subject line "Self-Exclusion Request". Our support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For urgent requests, use the live chat option within your account.

2
Confirm Your Identity

You will be asked to confirm your registered account details so that the exclusion is applied to the correct account. This is a safeguard — it is not a delay tactic.

3
Choose Your Exclusion Period

Select your preferred exclusion duration — 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or indefinite. We will confirm your choice in writing before activating the exclusion.

4
Exclusion Activated

Your account is locked immediately upon confirmation. Any pending balance will be returned to you via the payment method on record. You will receive a written confirmation email. We encourage you to also delete any saved payment details and app shortcuts to reduce temptation during the exclusion period.

jiwn does not make marketing contact with users who are under self-exclusion. If you receive a promotional message while excluded, please report it immediately to [email protected].

Practical Advice

Habits That Keep Gambling Healthy

These are not rules imposed by jiwn — they are habits that experienced, mindful players around the world use to keep gambling enjoyable and bounded. They take no extra effort once they become routine.

Set a budget before you start — decide in advance exactly how much you are willing to spend during a session, treat it as the cost of entertainment, and stop when it is gone regardless of the score.

Never gamble while emotional — a Pakistan batting collapse or a last-minute PSL wicket can trigger impulsive staking decisions. Step away from the screen for ten minutes before reacting to a surprising result.

Use the tools available to you — deposit limits and session timers are not signs of weakness. They are practical tools that the most responsible gamblers use consistently.

Balance gambling with other activities — if cricket, PSL or UFC nights are always accompanied by a bet, consider having some match-watching sessions purely as a fan. Enjoyment should not depend on a stake.

Keep gambling separate from finances — use a dedicated, capped wallet or prepaid card for gambling activity where possible. Mixing gambling funds with household accounts (Easypaisa, JazzCash or bank accounts used for daily expenses) blurs the picture of what you are actually spending.

Talk to someone you trust — whether a family member in Karachi or a close friend in Islamabad, a candid conversation about your gambling habits can be the most effective reality check there is.
